American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level III NICU Charge RN position requiring a minimum of 3 years of NICU experience and active CA RN and Epic proficiency.

Position is based in a Level III NICU within a hospital setting
-
Patient population includes neonates and infants, with a focus on 1:1 and 1:2 care ratios for high-acuity patients
-
Role combines bedside nursing and charge nurse responsibilities, with a charge differential applied to shifts worked as charge
-
Shift schedule is 3x12-hour nights, 19:00–07:30
-
Weekend shifts are scheduled as needed to meet unit demands
-
Floating is required, potentially between facilities within the same health system
-
Medication system: Omnicell
-
Documentation system: Epic (experience required)

Communication framework: SBAR
-
Active CA RN license required
-
Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and Advanced NRP
-
Minimum 3 years of solid NICU experience required
-
Level III, Level III+, or Level IV NICU experience required

Charge nurse experience required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Experience with high-risk deliveries and admission of high-acuity neonates required
-
Proficiency required in: neonatal IV access (UAC, UVC, peripheral IVs), arterial line management, central line blood draws, and Omnicell medication system
-
Proficiency required in respiratory support modalities including Bubble CPAP, HFNC, High Frequency Ventilation, Inhaled Nitric Oxide, Vapotherm, oscillators, chest tube management, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP)

Experience with neonates across all gestational ages (<24–28 weeks, 29–34 weeks, and >34 weeks) required

Skills required include: dysrhythmia interpretation, blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, phototherapy, sepsis workup, administration of blood products, neonatal dosage calculations, anti-seizure medications, IV vasopressors, neonatal abstinence syndrome management, seizure disorder management, APGAR scoring, phlebotomy, thermoregulation, and endotracheal tube suctioning

Skills required include: oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement and management, gavage/bottle/breast feedings, breastfeeding support and breast milk handling, lumbar puncture assistance, developmental care, and patient/family teaching

Isolation precautions experience required
