About the District
Pritchett School District enrolls approximately sixty students in pre-school through twelfth grade. The pre-school, elementary, middle school, and high school are housed in one building, located in the town of Pritchett. School is held Monday through Thursday beginning at 7:45 a.m. and ending at 4:05 p.m. In the middle school and high school there are seven scheduled classes per day. Time has also been allotted for students to participate in a dedicated Accelerated Reader reading time, as well as Study Hall/Seminar. Pritchett offers a state and nationally accredited preschool program for students under five years of age. Special Education is also available in all grade levels, with Title I Math and Reading programs in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade.
Pritchett School participates in numerous academic programs and competitions. Elementary students, as well as those middle school and high school students who wish to participate, put on a vocal music program in the fall and spring. Pritchett Middle School and High School students participate in FFA, NHS, FOR Club, and Student Council. Traditionally, Pritchett has also participated in FBLA and Knowledge Bowl competitions in the past. Pritchett High School is a member of CHSSA, offering participation in volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, and track. There is also the opportunity for students to participate in football, cross country, baseball, and wrestling in a nearby district.
The staff includes ten teachers and eight support staff, making the student to teacher ratio 6:1 in kindergarten through twelfth grade. This low student/teacher ratio allows for ample opportunity for individual attention. Staff and community alike take pride in the District’s commitment to shared decision making and management.
Pritchett emphasizes college preparation and career readiness to mold successful citizens. Some classes offered include Vocational Agriculture, Life Skills, Computer Literacy, Multimedia, Yearbook, and Journalism. Lamar Community College offers concurrent enrollment courses.
Pritchett School District RE-3 staff members, as well as members of the community, hold firmly to the value of a strong academic program and high expectations of achievement. Pritchett students are also instilled with the values of our unofficial motto RRSP: Respect, Responsibility, Safety, and Pride.
