Best Sand & Gravel is currently seeking to hire dedicated CDL drivers. We require a 2+ year minimum of driving experience.
- Possess a current CDL. Class A
- Clean background to be able to work on military and federal projects
- Required to check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, and damage to vehicles.
- Ability to receive delivery instruction from appropriate sources, verify routes and instructions.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.
- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Check all load related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
- Ability to maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
- Ability to collaborate with other drivers as part of a driving team on some trips.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting materials.
- Truck Driver will perform any and all other job activities throughout the workday as deemed necessary by Management and/or the person supervising the job site.
