Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Connecticut Educator Certificate with Special Education endorsement
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, comfortable working with a range of age groups
- Ability to adapt instructional approaches for diverse student needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Full-time availability for the duration of the academic year
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) that promote student growth and achievement
- Provide instruction in a self-contained classroom environment, tailoring strategies to meet unique learning needs
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture focused on student engagement, development, and well-being
- Collaborate with families, general education staff, and related service providers to ensure holistic student support
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
