Duties
- Assist with meal planning and preparation, ensuring menus meet dietary guidelines and resident preferences
- Prepare and serve meals following established recipes, slicing techniques, and food handling safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas in compliance with food safety management protocols
- Support catering events and special meal occasions with efficient food service and presentation
- Follow safety standards during food production, including proper knife skills and slicing techniques to ensure quality and safety
- Help monitor food inventory levels, assist with food storage, and ensure proper handling of ingredients
- Provide friendly, attentive service to residents during meal times, supporting a positive dining experience
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred
- Kitchen experience in restaurants or the food industry is advantageous
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards required
- Familiarity with food handling procedures, knife skills, slicing techniques, and food safety management systems essential
- Experience in catering or serving in a hospitality setting is a plus
- Strong understanding of safety standards in production environments and adherence to health regulations
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
