Job Summary:
Performs general cleaning and laundry operations in accordance with standard procedures set forth by the Department of Environmental Services. May be assigned to collection and distribution tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs daily, routine and service cleanings.
Performs check-out and cycle cleanings.
Complies with sanitation and safety regulations.
Collects soiled laundry from various areas of the hospital and sorts according to type, condition and weight.
Cleans and disinfects equipment, carts, laundry chutes, and sorting room for the hospital.
Performs other job-related duties as requested.
Requirements:
Eighth grade education or equivalent. Experience with battery-powered, large area vacuums, carpet cleaning, liquid extraction, and wet/dry system preferred. Proficiency in the English language required. Three months on-the-job training is necessary.
