Are you a skilled mechanic or technician with engine experience who wants more than just another job? At GenPro, we specialize in servicing all types of generator systems—residential, commercial, and industrial—keeping homes, businesses, and critical operations powered during outages and everyday use. We're a team-oriented company focused on emergency response and strategic development of our people’s professional, personal, and relational skills.
We’re hiring Generator Service Technicians at all experience levels (I, II, or III) across the Greater Houston area. Whether you’re entry-level with some electrical or engine background, or a seasoned pro with years under your belt, we invest in your growth through manufacturer training (Generac, Cummins, Kohler) and hands-on advancement opportunities. Join a supportive, spirited team where your expertise directly impacts clients and your earning potential grows with your contributions.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities Vary by Level):
- Perform visual inspections, routine maintenance, oil/coolant changes, filtration, and basic to advanced diagnostics and repairs on diesel and gas generators.
- Handle preventive maintenance agreements (PMAs), service calls, installations, and troubleshooting of engines, electrical systems, controls, and transfer switches.
- Communicate clearly with customers—explaining systems, providing status updates (verbal and written), and helping them make informed decisions on repairs, upgrades, or add-ons.
- Invoice clients on-site, complete job reports, and participate in on-call rotations for emergency response.
- Collaborate with senior team members on larger projects while developing skills to work independently.
- Lift up to 50+ lbs, work in outdoor heat/humidity, and travel within the Greater Houston area.
Compensation – Clear Path to Higher Earnings We offer a three-tier compensation system designed for rewarding growth:
- Level I (Entry): $17–$19 per hour + 5% of gross revenue generated
- Level II (Intermediate): $19–$25 per hour + 5% of gross revenue generated

*Gross revenue includes service/repair/warranty calls plus add-ons, upgrades, parts, and equipment sales (service fees like PMAs excluded; assisted calls split 50/50). Bonuses are paid monthly before the 15th.

- Comprehensive healthcare, vision, and dental plans
- 401(k) retirement savings with matching up to 5%

- Valid driver’s license and ability to work legally in the US.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work comfortably in Houston’s heat and humidity, and pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, basic electrical understanding (grows with training), and a customer-focused mindset.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and being part of a team that values professional, personal, and relational growth.
