Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM specifications and schematics.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other farm or industrial machinery.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using power tools and welding techniques to meet specific operational needs.
- Repair and replace components related to air brakes, alignment systems, HVAC units, tires, and powertrain assemblies.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
- Use hand tools, soldering equipment, and diagnostic software to troubleshoot electrical issues and ensure proper functioning of all systems.
- Maintain detailed service records, follow safety guidelines, and communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely completion of all repair tasks.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience working with heavy-duty diesel engines and industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of Caterpillar, OEM parts standards, and familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and assembly of custom parts or repairs.
- Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, HVAC systems, and farm machinery.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics tools and electrical troubleshooting methods.
- Ability to perform tire service, brake repair, suspension adjustments, hydraulic repairs, and power tool operation efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
