Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage comprehensive accounting functions for Smith Equipment Co. This role is vital in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting overall financial health. Duties
- Manage the full cycle of bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing using Quickbooks Enterprise Desktop
- Perform general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain accurate records within accounting software like QuickBooks; ensure data integrity through diligent data entry and account analysis
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and schedules for management review; analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or trends
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts; oversee month-end closing procedures with attention to detail
- Assist with budgeting processes and financial forecasting; support tax preparation activities by organizing relevant documentation
- Conduct detailed account analysis using Excel data analysis techniques; perform 10 key typing for efficient data entry
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits; provide necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions
Experience
- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role within public accounting or corporate finance environments
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles
- Hands-on experience with multiple financial software platforms such as QuickBooks
- Strong understanding of payroll management processes and accounts receivable/payable workflows
- Demonstrated ability in technical accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet analysis
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and account analysis
- Ability to interpret complex financial concepts and perform budgeting or credit analysis when needed
