Logistics Operator (Forklift)
The Logistics Operator position in
Bay Minette, Alabama supports shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, and warehouse organization in a safety-focused manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role helping ensure materials move accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with plant procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain clean, organized work areas.
- Read and process shipping, receiving, loading, and inventory documentation.
- Load and unload finished products, raw materials, tank trucks, railcars, totes, and other approved containers.
- Operate forklifts and other approved equipment to move materials throughout the facility.
- Verify quantities, label and store materials, complete records, and support inventory counts.
- Inspect containers, hoses, equipment, and materials for safety, quality, compatibility, or damage concerns.
- Collect samples, document results, and communicate safety, quality, inventory, or equipment issues promptly.
- Support shipping, receiving, logistics, housekeeping, and continuous improvement activities as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to pass required pre-employment screening, including drug test and physical examination.
- Basic math, reading, documentation, communication, and computer skills required.
- Ability to complete required training, job qualifications, and forklift licensing.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, shipping/receiving, chemical plant operations, or industrial environments preferred.
- Experience with bulk liquid handling, tank trucks, railcars, pumps, valves, hoses, storage tanks, or related industrial equipment is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, work indoors/outdoors, and wear required PPE.
- Safety-minded, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to cross-train and support shipping, receiving, warehouse, and plant operations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: $24+/hour, depending on experience
- Schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
