American Traveler is seeking a BSN-prepared RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract on a Neuro Med/Surg unit, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry experience and an active Idaho or Compact RN license.

Acute care hospital setting on a 34-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit (Floor 9)

Patient population includes stroke, spine/back surgeries, cranial surgeries, neck surgeries, medical neuro disorders, neuro intervention procedures, Guillain Barré, Myasthenia Gravis, seizures, and EEG monitoring

Average patient length of stay is 2–5 days

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4

CNAs available at a 1:8 ratio
-
RT resources available on unit, including CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and Trachs
-
Telemetry monitors (Philips) are available on the unit
-
EMR: Epic
-
12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a
-
Weekends required as needed

Travelers are first to float; floating supports all Treasure Valley Med/Surg areas

No on-call or standby requirement

Active Idaho or Compact RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)

BSN required

Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience required; stroke experience preferred

Current BLS (AHA or ARC) certification required

Current NIHSS certification required

Active certifications required — pending certifications will not be accepted

Driver's license required

Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Neuroscience NPs are staffed 24/7 to provide support for all neuro surgery and neuro intervention patients

Charge RN on each shift carries no patient assignment; House Supervisor supports the full Boise Hospital campus; two Assistant Managers are available on nights and one on days
-
Orientation includes 2 days of unit-specific orientation plus a didactic day with the unit-based educator
-
No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accepted
-
Former permanent employees of this facility must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
-
No specific scrub color required — clean and professional appearance expected

Holiday coverage required as needed
