Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and containers within the yard, ensuring that all operations run smoothly. This role requires a keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining safety standards at all times. This position is for 1st & 2nd Shift/ 8-12 hour shifts- Monday-Friday. 1st Shift 7:00am - 3:30 pm & 2nd Shift 3:30 pm - 2:00 am. Possible weekends if needed. Work hours can change and overtime will be expected on some shifts.
Duties
- Safely maneuver and position trailers from one location to another throughout the facility
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods from lorries, ensuring proper handling techniques are employed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard area to promote a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding operational needs and any issues that arise.
- Follow all safety regulations and comapny policies
Experience
- Previous experience as a Yard Driver or in a similar role is preferred
- A valid driving licence appropriate for operating yard vehicles is required, CDL plus
- Familiarity with yard operations and logistics.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and management.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
