At Summit Oral and Facial Surgery, we are a new oral surgery office in the Fresno area. We are looking for an experienced Oral Surgery Assistant to join our new and growing team and help deliver top-tier surgical experiences to our patients.
Position Overview The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, organized professional with strong communication skills and a passion for patient care. You will work closely with the surgeon and clinical team to assist in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures, from preparation through post-op follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist oral surgeon with all clinical procedures, including extractions, implants, bone grafting, and sedation cases.
- Prepare and maintain surgical rooms, instruments, and materials for each procedure.
- Take and process radiographs (CBCT, panoramic, PA).
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Provide clear pre- and post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers.
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes.
- Support sterilization protocols and OSHA compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Required: At least 2 years of oral surgery or surgical assisting experience.
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred.
- Current CPR and BLS certification required; DAANCE certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
