Restaurant Cashier (Bilingual – Spanish Welcome)

Position Summary:We are looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, you will process orders and payments, provide excellent customer service, and help maintain a welcoming environment. Spanish language skills are a plus, as we serve a diverse community and appreciate the ability to connect with guests in both English and Spanish. The ideal candidate is reliable, personable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and answer questions about menu items or specials.
- Communicate effectively with guests in English; Spanish language skills are a bonus.
- Accurately process dine-in, takeout, and delivery orders using our POS system.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card, and mobile payments; issue receipts and make change as needed.
- Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift; report discrepancies to management.
- Package takeout orders and ensure accuracy before handling off to guests or delivery drivers.
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier station; restock supplies as needed.
- Address customer concerns or complaints professionally, escalating to management when necessary.
- Assist team members with light duties during slow periods (e.g., refilling drinks, clearing tables).
- Follow all cash handling, food safety, and privacy policies.
Qualifications:
- Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Spanish language skills are welcome and appreciated.
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods.
