Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Leadership: Lead a classroom of preschool children using the Florida VPK curriculum to promote kindergarten readiness.
- Curriculum & Planning: Design and execute engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans focused on early literacy, language development, and social-emotional growth.
- Assessment & Tracking: Conduct student assessments, track developmental progress, and tailor instruction to support individual learning needs.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a structured, safe, and positive environment using effective, constructive behavior management strategies.
- Family Engagement: Build strong, trust-based relationships with parents through proactive, clear communication regarding child progress.
- Compliance: Ensure all classroom activities meet Florida VPK standards, DCF regulations, and state licensing criteria.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Certifications: Florida 45-Hour DCF Child Care Training (Required)
- Background Check: Ability to successfully pass a Level II Background Screening
- Language: English (Required)
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience: 1+ years of teaching or childcare experience in a VPK or preschool setting
- Credentials: Child Development Associate (CDA) certification
- Safety: CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Schedule
- Day shift (Within operating hours 6:00am-6:00pm)
- Monday to Friday (Full-time flexibility appreciated)
