Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Patient Account Rep to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining acceptable days in receivables by accelerating cash receipts and closely monitoring receivables; maintains efficient operations and assists with projects. Will also communicate with facility business office coordinators and 3rd party payer's.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient accounts from initiation to resolution, ensuring accuracy in billing and collections.
- Review and process medical claims using HIPPS, CPT coding, and ICD-10 standards.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems effectively for maintaining accurate patient information.
- Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Conduct follow-ups on outstanding claims and payments to ensure timely collections.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Assist in training junior staff on best practices in medical billing and coding.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience of healthcare Patient Accounting experience at a skilled nursing facility or other related experience with focus on Manage Care HMO and Private Pay co-insurance billing and collections.
- Basic computer knowledge including Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Knowledgeable in commercial, private, and managed care organizations.
- General understanding of charts, coding of insurance companies and checking financial classes.
- Experience in 3rd party payEr's contracts.
