Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Utility Worker to join our dynamic food service team. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation activities, including basic ingredient handling and assembly tasks
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces regularly
- Support food safety sanitizing procedures in compliance with health regulations
- Handle dishwashing duties efficiently using commercial dishwashers or manual cleaning methods
- Assist with bussing tables and clearing dining areas promptly during service hours
- Operate kitchen equipment safely under supervision and report any malfunctions
- Perform heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies, equipment, or bulk ingredients safely
- Follow proper food handling protocols to ensure hygiene and safety standards are upheld
- Support catering and banquet setups by organizing supplies and assisting with service logistics
- Adhere to all kitchen health and safety standards to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, catering, or hospitality environments preferred
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including lifting heavy items safely
- Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, ovens, or prep stations
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
- Basic knife skills and understanding of kitchen health and safety standards are advantageous
