Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate L1MA (Level 1 Medical Assistant) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, medical documentation, and clinical support, with experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. As an L1MA, you will play a vital role in supporting healthcare providers by delivering high-quality patient care, managing medical records, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, those with disabilities, and individuals requiring specialized dementia or hospice care.
Duties
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient intake, vital signs measurement, and basic assessments.
- Assist clients with their ADL's
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Monitor patient conditions by recording vital signs and observing symptoms related to physiology and anatomy knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Assist with mobility support and personal care for patients in assisted living or home care settings.
- Prepare meals according to dietician menus
- Light cleaning within the facility and client rooms
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical procedures such as catheter care and tube feeding.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail in recording vital signs, medication administration, and medical records management.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Experience within the behavioral health community is preferred.
