Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately, including sterile IV infusions and compounded medications, following aseptic techniques and sterile IV admixture procedures.
- Manage medication inventory, perform data entry into pharmacy software systems, and ensure proper storage and labeling of pharmaceuticals.
- Conduct pharmaceutical calculations to verify dosages and ensure medication accuracy in compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws.
- Support patient service activities by answering questions, providing medication information, and maintaining patient confidentiality throughout all interactions.
- Ensure adherence to pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards, including drug regulation, medical terminology accuracy, and documentation of intake and dispensation records.
- Participate in hospital or community pharmacy operations by assisting with medication administration, drug regulation adherence, and inventory management.
- Maintain high standards of aseptic technique during sterile compounding and IV infusion procedures to guarantee patient safety.

Skills
- Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician with LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, or hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, medical terminology, and pharmacological medical terminology.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems for data entry, medication tracking, and inventory management.
- Expertise in IV compounding, sterile IV admixture procedures, aseptic technique, and sterile technique protocols.
- Knowledge of state healthcare regulations, drug regulation laws, and federal pharmacy laws to ensure compliance at all times.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and support in both community and hospital settings.
- Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations accurately while maintaining attention to detail under pressure.
