Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Surgical First Assistant to join our dynamic surgical team. In this vital role, you will work closely with surgeons and operating room staff to provide exceptional patient care during surgical procedures. Your expertise will ensure that surgeries are performed efficiently, safely, and with the highest standards of infection control and aseptic technique. Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during operative procedures by providing hands-on support, including suturing, tissue retraction, and hemostasis.
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile, functional, and ready for use.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols throughout all surgical activities.
- Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses during surgery, promptly reporting any abnormalities to the surgical team.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and critical care principles relevant to diverse patient populations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Surgical First Assistant.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
- Extensive OR experience across various specialties.
- Strong understanding of protocols related to infection control, aseptic technique, and patient safety standards.
- Ability to perform suturing skills efficiently and accurately in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, anatomy details, physiology concepts, and acute care procedures essential for patient safety during surgery.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
