Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapy Technician and Receptionist on campus at Clemson at Fike, where your energy and dedication will support patient care and clinic operations. This paid position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an outpatient setting, including a wide variety of diagnoses. You will be the friendly face welcoming patients, assisting with intake procedures, and supporting physical therapists in delivering exceptional care. We are looking for a full-time employee that has the flexibility to work the hours the clinic is typically open during the Fall semester, this is a Monday-Friday schedule. Must be able to start prior to the start of the Fall semester, PTO requests coincide with the school calendar.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring smooth check-in and check-out processes for outpatient and inpatient visits
- Assist with patient intake by collecting insurance information and copays.
- Provide exercise assistance to the Physical Therapists
- Support physical therapists by preparing treatment areas, handling equipment, and assisting during therapy sessions as directed
- Maintain clear communication with patients regarding appointment schedules, instructions, and clinic policies
- Manage phone calls efficiently, scheduling appointments, answering inquiries, and directing calls to appropriate staff
Qualifications
- Strong commitment to patient service with excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to support clinical activities
- Experience in exercise outside the classroom is ideal
- Previous hospital or clinic experience is highly desirable; familiarity with outpatient is a plus
- Experience working with diverse populations such as geriatrics or orthopedic patients preferred
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Demonstrated interest in healthcare careers with a desire to learn about hospital medicine and acute or sub-acute care processes
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working collaboratively within a team
