Gaston & Wyatt has been crafting extraordinary custom architectural millwork from our Charlottesville, Virginia shop since 1979. Sought out by architects and builders on projects across the country — from New York to Palm Beach to Boston, we build the kind of work that ends up in landmark homes. We are looking for a skilled Woodworker/Cabinet Maker who takes pride in their craft and wants to grow with a team that sets the bar high.
What You'll Do
- Mill, shape, rip, crosscut, sand, and process panels and solid lumber into high-quality architectural millwork components
- Build cases, doors, and assemblies using fine traditional joinery, mortise and tenon, lock miter, as well as modern joinery methods
- Set up and run shapers, sliding table saws, frame clamps, mortising equipment, band saws, and other production machinery
- Execute curved work, veneer matching, laminating, gluing, and pressing on both interior and exterior millwork
- Take ownership of your work from first cut to handoff, setting the finishing team up with clean, square, precise assemblies
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in millwork, casework, or fine furniture construction
- Ability to read and work from architectural drawings and shop drawings accurately
- Proficient in traditional and modern joinery methods; understanding of curved work is a plus
- Able to lift and carry 75 lbs. and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and kneeling
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute in a fast-paced, team-driven shop
What We Offer
- Medical coverage through Aetna with four plan options, plus a company HSA contribution; dental and vision through Principal
- Company-paid life insurance and long-term disability; short-term disability and supplemental coverage available
- 401(k) through Empower with annual profit sharing and match potential
- Generous PTO, six paid holidays, and weekly pay every Thursday
At Gaston & Wyatt, quality is our legacy. We're looking for a Woodworker/Cabinetmaker who is hungry to grow, humble enough to be a team player, and smart enough to know that details matter. If you solve problems head-on, respect your craft, and want to be part of a shop where precision is the standard, we want to hear from you.
