Vertex Security is a leading commercial security systems integrator serving New York City and Long Island. We design, install, and service access control, video surveillance, intercom, intrusion detection, and low-voltage systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use properties.
We are seeking a hands-on Security Systems Foreman who can lead technicians in the field while maintaining a high level of technical expertise. This is an opportunity for an experienced senior technician or foreman who wants long-term stability, career growth, and the ability to lead major projects.
Position Summary
This is a working foreman position.
You will be responsible for leading field crews, coordinating installation activities, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring quality workmanship while remaining actively involved in troubleshooting, commissioning, and technical problem solving.
You must be comfortable both managing technicians and rolling up your sleeves when technical challenges arise.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise installation teams on commercial security projects
- Coordinate daily field activities and manpower requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints, risers, wiring diagrams, and specifications
- Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and commission security systems
- Ensure installations meet company standards, project specifications, and applicable codes
- Coordinate with project managers, customers, general contractors, and other trades
- Identify and resolve technical issues in the field
- Train and mentor junior technicians
- Track project progress and communicate field updates
- Identify opportunities for change orders and additional project work
- Maintain a safe and organized job site
Required Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience installing and servicing commercial security systems
- 2+ years leading technicians or running projects in the field
- Strong experience with:
- Access Control
- CCTV / Video Surveillance
- Intercom Systems
- Network Infrastructure
- Low Voltage Cabling
- Strong understanding of:
- Relays
- Network fundamentals
- Power supplies
- System integration
- Troubleshooting methodologies
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications
- Experience coordinating with general contractors and construction teams
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Preferred Experience
Experience with one or more of the following:

- Comelit
- LenelS2
- Aiphone
- ButterflyMX
Requirements
- OSHA 62 SST (Required)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work throughout NYC and Long Island
- Ability to lift equipment and work on active construction sites

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
