Job Title: Custom Cabinetry / Millwork / Countertop EstimatorJoin Our Team
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Custom Cabinetry, Millwork & Countertop Estimator to join our growing team. This position is responsible for reviewing project plans, preparing accurate material and labor estimates, and working closely with our project management and production teams to ensure successful project execution.
Experience reading blueprints is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a desire to learn.
Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for custom cabinetry, millwork, and countertops.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, hardware, and outsourced products.
- Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Work with sales and project managers to clarify project scope.
- Create and submit professional estimates and proposals.
- Maintain estimating records and pricing databases.
- Assist with value engineering and cost-saving recommendations when applicable.
- Coordinate with production to ensure estimates align with manufacturing capabilities.
- Meet estimating deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
Qualifications
- Experience in cabinetry, millwork, countertops, construction estimating, woodworking, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints is preferred but not required—we will train the right individual.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic computer programs.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with estimating software.
- Knowledge of cabinet construction methods, millwork, laminate, solid surface, quartz, or stone countertops.
- Understanding of commercial and residential construction practices.
