What You'll Do
As a CDL Refuse Collector, you'll safely operate one of our modern vehicles while providing dependable waste, recycling, organics and yard waste services throughout our communities.
Our fleet features automated arms, forks, and packers. You will be using tablet-based routing technology, allowing you to perform your work safely and efficiently while remaining in the driver's seat whenever possible.
Daily Responsibilities
- Safely operate waste collection vehicles
- Complete assigned routes accurately and efficiently
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Safely collect, transport, and unload refuse and recyclable materials
- Dispose of collected materials at designated transfer stations and landfill facilities
- Operate onboard tablet routing technology
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds when necessary
- Maintain a clean and professional vehicle
- Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies
- Communicate with dispatch and leadership regarding delays, equipment concerns, accidents, unsafe road conditions, or route issues
- Deliver exceptional customer service while representing Curbside Waste in the communities we serve
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Air Brake Endorsement
- Clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Commitment to safety and excellent customer service
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous waste industry experience
- Experience operating commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, dump trucks, flatbeds, ready-mix trucks, or similar heavy equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment knowledge
