This role is responsible for:Key Responsibilities:
20% -- DEVELOP AND PROMOTE MEMBER BENEFITS PROGRAMS:
· Establish and administer departmental objectives and budgets; plan and conduct staff product, sales, and skills training.
· Evaluate and implement new skills training and sales techniques to increase departmental sales effectiveness.
· Assists in managing departmental operation expenditures in accordance with budget goals.
· Assists in managing the department operations to ensure customer satisfaction and achievement of growth goals.
· Assists in effective vendor management by participating in negotiating fee agreements, assessing vendor effectiveness, and monitoring performance of our producer compensation plan.
50% PROVIDE EFFECTIVE SUPERVISION TO FIELD SERVICE SALES STAFF:
· Plan work assignments and communicate them effectively to all employees to maximize both work results and their satisfaction.
· Observe and listen to employees in order to be continuously aware of their skills, achievements, attitudes, work plans, limitations, and needs.
· Solve problems that impair the work performance of the group or any of its individuals.
· Identify efficiencies and support effective use of time, energy, and resources in alignment with Member Benefits’ mission.
· Communicate with each employee as often as necessary to ensure continuous awareness of the adequacy of performance.
· Guide employees correctly in their performance and their relationship to the organization.
· With others, responsible for compliance and regulation-oriented oversight of direct reports.
15%-- MEMBER BENEFITS SALES:
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
· Share responsibility for ancillary products and their promotion to school districts in partnership with WBCs and other stakeholders; may serve as the point person for select vendors.
· Serve as a resource for receiving and communicating competitive product information.
· Increase awareness of Member Benefits products and services and provide information to promote financial security for members.
· Consult with staff to support prospective participants regarding personal insurance and financial needs.
· Expand program growth through effective use of cross-selling and referrals.
10% -- DEVELOP AND OVERSEE THE BUSINESS PLAN.
· Assist with developing, maintaining, and evaluating the sales and marketing plan and assess opportunities for enhancing existing product lines and developing new product lines.
· Recommend sales programs as well as short- and long-term sales strategies/tactics to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
· Develop and maintain sales forecasts and metrics for all lines of business.
5% -- SPECIAL PROJECTS AS ASSIGNED.
Required Experience and Knowledge:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing/Sales, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
· FINRA Series 6, 26, and 63 required; Series 7 and 24 are a plus.
· Life insurance and/or personal lines P&C license required or must be obtained within six months of start date.
· 6+ years of experience in financial services, investment sales, insurance sales, or a related field.
· 3+ years of experience supervising, managing, and leading teams in financial services.
· Proven track record of developing teams and delivering growth and revenue goals.
· Proficiency in prioritization, multitasking and handling multiple responsibilities.
· Experience with business planning and plan management.
· Commitment to customer service, growth, and company values.
· Expertise in at least one of the following and knowledge in one or more of these other areas: Investments, 403(b)/TSAs, IRAs, WRS-Wisconsin Retirement System; Social Security; Financial planning; Life insurance and/or personal lines Property and Casualty insurance.
Abilities Required:
· Ability to lead others to achieve desired results, including sales goals, objectives, and project work plans; promotion of a positive, team-based working environment; and assessment of individual and group performance and continuous feedback communication.
· Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to compose clear, concise, and persuasive correspondence and narrative reports that communicate messages consistent with Company policy using appropriate tone, word usage, and grammar.
· Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with individuals and groups, to explain difficult and technical insurance and savings program issues, and to listen effectively.
· Ability to edit written correspondence and assist staff to improve correspondence.
· Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to coach, train, mentor and motivate individuals and sales teams.
· Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to changes.
· Excellent decision-making skills, including appropriate problem identification and analysis, idea generation, information research and organization, and conclusion determination.
· Ability to use the online record-keeping systems and personal computer software necessary to perform job duties (Microsoft Word preferred), policy related software, presentation software (PowerPoint preferred), or similar programs.
· Excellent team building skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and organize and prioritize own work and the work of others.
· Ability to work independently and to establish, monitor, and achieve goals with minimal supervision as well as the ability to work as an effective member of a team.
· Respectful disposition of all dealings with employees, participants, vendors, and others that promote teamwork and a pleasant work environment.
· Ability to construct and administer business plans and operational budgets or the willingness and the ability to gain.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities:
· FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 with supervisory experience.
· Demonstrated success in selling financial services products and programs.
· Cross-channel, B2B, B2C, and/or digital sales experience.
· Strong knowledge of the products, systems, policies, and procedures related to the supervised team.
· Experience building and contributing to marketing plans and operational budgets.
· Current Wisconsin life insurance and personal lines property and casualty licenses.
· Experience developing strategic plans and tactical execution of those plans.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
