Duties
- Safely operate commercial box trucks and other vehicles in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and company policies.
- Load and unload products using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques, ensuring safe lifting practices and proper weight handling in the workplace.
- Deliver goods to customer locations following designated route driving plans, maintaining punctuality and professionalism throughout each delivery.
- Install, assemble, or set up products on-site according to specifications, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients during deliveries and installations, addressing questions or concerns professionally.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and installation activities; complete shift reports and logs diligently.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly.
Experience
- Prior warehouse experience with a focus on heavy lifting, manual handling, or logistics is highly preferred.
- Proven commercial driving experience, especially operating box trucks or similar vehicles.
- Familiarity with route driving, load & unload procedures, and safe lifting practices in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using forklifts or pallet jacks for material handling is advantageous; certification is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and weight handling in the workplace ensures compliance and safety.
- Ability to move efficiently between tasks such as driving, installing, loading/unloading while maintaining safety standards.
