- Collaborate with research coordinators and physicians to resolve disputed invoice promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all billing activities, including medical collections, and audit documentation.
- Stay current with evolving regulations related to medical billing, coding standards, and research billing guidelines to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Assist in training team members on medical billing practices specific to clinical research.
- Proven experience in medical billing or coding within a healthcare or clinical research setting.
- Strong knowledge of DRG classifications, CPT coding systems, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding conventions, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and EHR platforms used for managing medical records and billing information.
- Experience handling medical collections and resolving billing disputes efficiently.
- Prior work in a medical office environment is essential, especially roles involving detailed documentation and billing procedures.
