Role: Senior Professional Fee Specialty Coder – Neurosurgery / Interventional Radiology
Location: Remote (Candidates must reside in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, or NM)
Pay Range: $30 - $40 per hour
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Guaranteed: 40 Hours/Week
Contract Duration: 12 Weeks

Job Summary:
The facility is seeking an experienced Senior Professional Fee (ProFee) Specialty Coder with expertise in Neurosurgery and Interventional Radiology (IR). The coder will review clinical documentation, assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, maintain a coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher, support revenue cycle operations, and collaborate with HIM and Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) teams. This is a remote, full-time contract with the potential to convert to a permanent position.
Responsibilities:
- Review physician documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes.
- Code Professional Fee (ProFee) Neurosurgery and Interventional Radiology encounters.
- Maintain coding accuracy of 95% or higher.
- Abstract patient data into Epic EMR and other required systems.
- Ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT, AMA, and payer coding guidelines.
- Collaborate with HIM, CDI, physicians, and Revenue Cycle teams.
- Support billing accuracy and denial prevention.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of coding experience after certification (Apprentice status not accepted).
- 3–5 years of relevant coding experience required.
- Professional Fee (ProFee) coding experience.
- Neurosurgery and/or Interventional Radiology coding experience.
- Strong proficiency with Epic EMR.
- Must reside in TX, LA, AR, GA, or NM.
- Must have a home office with two monitors and a laptop.
Preferred Qualifications:
- General Surgery coding experience.
- Experience with complex specialty coding.
- Strong understanding of revenue cycle and reimbursement guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
