Job Summary:
Henry Ford Academy is seeking a High School Math Teacher. In this role, you will facilitate engaging, immersive
learning experiences for students of diverse backgrounds and proficiency levels. The teacher is responsible for
providing high-quality instruction that promotes student achievement, critical thinking, and college and career
readiness. The teacher develops engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards, monitors student
progress, and collaborates with staff, families, and the school community to support student success.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction and Curriculum
➢ Plan and deliver effective, standards-based instruction in assigned subject area(s).
➢ Develop lesson plans that meet diverse learning needs and instructional goals.
➢ Utilize a variety of teaching methods, technologies, and instructional resources to enhance student
learning.
➢ Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying academic abilities and learning styles.
➢ Incorporate critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world applications into lessons.
➢ Maintain accurate and up-to-date lesson plans and instructional materials.
Student Assessment
➢ Assess and evaluate student performance through formal and informal assessments.
➢ Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
➢ Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student performance.
➢ Use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and improve student outcomes.
Classroom Management
➢ Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
➢ Implement school policies, procedures, and student discipline expectations consistently.
➢ Foster positive relationships with students that support academic and social-emotional growth.
➢ Promote student engagement, responsibility, and accountability.
Communication and Collaboration
➢ Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
➢ Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, administrators, and support staff to meet student needs.
➢ Participate in parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and school events.
➢ Support school-wide initiatives and programs.
Professional Responsibilities
➢ Participate in professional development activities and continuous learning opportunities.
➢ Maintain compliance with state, federal, and school policies and regulations.
➢ Fulfill supervisory duties as assigned, including hall, lunch, arrival, dismissal, and extracurricular
supervision.
➢ Serve as a positive role model for students and the school community.
➢ Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
