Lorain Surgery Center is a dedicated ambulatory surgery center specializing in outpatient pain management procedures. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a focused, efficient setting. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to serve in a dual role as Clinical Director and Operating Room (OR) Nurse.
Position Details:
- Surgery Days: Wednesdays & Thursdays (OR Nurse duties)
- Administrative Days: Flexible schedule
- Shift Start Time: 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM on surgery days
- Shift Length: 6 – 10 hours per shift on surgery days
- No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call

Operating Room (Wednesdays & Thursdays):
- Manage patient flow in the operating room
- Administer and monitor conscious sedation per physician orders and facility policy
- Set up for procedures with appropriate tools and supplies
- Participate in daily controlled substance counts and medication documentation
- Maintain a safe clinical environment in accordance with regulatory and infection control standards
- Provide compassionate communication to patients and families
- Complete and update patient charts with accurate documentation
Administrative Responsibilities (Non-Surgery Days):
- Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulations
- Manage inventory of medical and surgical supplies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and infection control standards and protocols
- Coordinate staff training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Act as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and administrative leadership
- Review incident reports, quality control measures, and patient safety initiatives
- Assist with maintaining AAAHC, CMS, OSHA, infection control, and state regulatory standards
- Participate in policy development and procedural improvements
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Ohio)
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- BLS certification required; ACLS required within one year
- Experience in an OR, PACU, or ambulatory surgery setting preferred
- Experience in a leadership or management role preferred
- Strong understanding of clinical best practices, accreditation standards, and compliance regulations
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
