Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Floater Teacher to join our early childhood education team! In this vital role, you will serve as a flexible classroom presence, supporting various age groups and classrooms to ensure a seamless and enriching learning environment. Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum development tailored to different age groups, including infants, toddlers and preschoolers
- Support classroom management and behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions and emotional well-being
- Engage children in child development instruction, including literacy education, math activities, physical education, and Montessori methods
- Collaborate with staff on lesson planning and adapting activities to meet individual needs, including special education and early intervention programs
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children’s progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to child welfare standards, first aid and CPR protocols, and mandated reporting laws
- Contribute to childcare routines such as diapering, feeding, nap times, and outdoor play to ensure comprehensive care for all children
- Give lunch breaks to staff at all 3 locations within walking distance of each other.
- Stand in for drivers transporting students from local elementary schools to our after school program. If you have a license and a good driving record, you can learn the routes and become one of our drivers as well.
Requirements
- Prior classroom experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare or preschool environments
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and preschool teaching techniques
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy education or Montessori methods
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a nurturing atmosphere
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare is preferred
- Passion for working with young children and supporting their growth through engaging activities in a safe setting
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
