Responsibilities
- Implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and respect among children.
- Manage daily classroom activities, ensuring smooth transitions and engaging experiences for toddlers and preschoolers alike.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through clear and compassionate updates.
- Apply behavior management strategies to support positive social interactions and address behavioral challenges constructively.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting any concerns related to child welfare or safety.
- Lead classroom team efforts by supervising assistant teachers or aides, providing mentorship, and fostering professional growth.
- Maintain detailed records of child development progress, assessments, and standardized testing results to inform instructional planning.
- Incorporate specialized knowledge such as special education techniques or early intervention strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Uphold health and safety standards by maintaining first aid and CPR certifications and implementing health protocols diligently.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare centers or preschools.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum implementation tailored for preschool-aged children, including literacy education and math instruction.
- Strong background in classroom management, behavior management, and child development instruction.
- Experience teaching physical education or facilitating active learning experiences for young children.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety procedures.
- Prior experience collaborating with parents to support children's educational journeys and developmental goals.
- Knowledge of special education practices or early intervention programs is highly desirable.
- Valid certifications in first aid and CPR are required or must be attained after hire; ongoing professional development in childhood education is preferred.
- Current State of Idaho Enhanced Background clearance, or ability to attain after hire.
