We Need Someone Who Already Knows Tires
We are looking for an experienced Tire Technician who can step into our operation and get to work with minimal training.
This is not an entry-level position.
If you have at least 3 years of professional tire experience, know how to properly use a tire changer and wheel balancer, work safely, and take pride in doing the job right, we want to hear from you.
Our work includes a mix of vehicles, with a strong focus on fleet vehicles such as Ram ProMasters, Ford Transits, Rivians, passenger vehicles, and light-duty trucks.
You should be comfortable handling tire work from start to finish without needing constant supervision.
Responsibilities
- Mount and dismount tires using a professional tire machine
- Balance wheels accurately using a computerized wheel balancer
- Diagnose tire leaks and punctures
- Perform proper tire repairs when safely repairable
- Inspect tires for tread depth, uneven wear, punctures, sidewall issues, and other safety concerns
- Replace and rotate tires as needed
- Properly torque wheels to manufacturer specifications
- Check and adjust tire pressures
- Work with TPMS-equipped vehicles
- Sort, label, stack, and organize tire inventory
- Help identify the correct tires for vehicles and upcoming jobs
- Keep the tire area and equipment clean and organized
- Safely work around passenger vehicles, cargo vans, EVs, and light-duty fleet vehicles
- Assist with day-to-day tire needs as they come in
Required Experience & Skills
Please apply only if you meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of professional tire technician experience
- Hands-on tire machine experience is required
- Must be able to mount and dismount tires independently
- Must know how to properly balance wheels
- Must understand proper puncture and tire repair procedures
- Must know when a tire can be safely repaired and when it must be replaced
- Must understand proper wheel installation and torque procedures
- Must be comfortable working on cargo vans and light-duty fleet vehicles
- Valid driver's license required
- Must be dependable and able to report consistently to our Linden, NJ location
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move tires and wheels throughout the workday
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and work around vehicles for extended periods
- Comfortable using tire equipment, jacks, lifts, and shop tools
- Able to safely handle repetitive lifting and physical tire work
This Position Is Not For Someone Who:
- Has never operated a tire machine
- Only has basic oil-change or entry-level general-service experience
- Needs to be taught how to mount and balance tires
- Cannot work independently
- Regularly misses work or arrives late
- Rushes through jobs and sacrifices safety or quality
We would rather hire one experienced and dependable tire technician who does the job correctly than someone who needs constant supervision.
