Greensboro Medical Associates, PA is a 9-Provider multi-specialty practice including Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and Rheumatology located in Greensboro, North Carolina. We strive to create the best possible patient experience with every interaction, and we are seeking a Referral Specialist to help us in that effort.
The Referral Specialist would work and maintain follow up of outgoing referrals, outgoing diagnostic imaging. Referrals would be made to approved specialists and imaging facilities in our area. Also, this individual would obtain authorization when needed from patient's insurance company prior to making the referral. The EMR system used is Eclinical Works. Experience with the referral management system, Proficient is a plus.
Responsibilities:
*Schedules appointments and procedures for referrals
*Obtains authorizations as needed for referrals
*Sends progress notes and labs via fax or postal mail for each referral when needed.
*Documents all referrals and appointments made.
*Follow up on pending referrals
*Required insurance referrals via portal (UHC Advantage HMO)
*Back up and cross-trained to work at check-in/out window.

*EMR knowledge (ECW is a plus)

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:1-2 years experience in a medical office. Referrals, front desk experience and billing is preferred.
