Robert and Company is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Administrator to support the planning, design, and development of military fuel infrastructure, utility, and site development projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on federal, Department of Defense (DoD), industrial, and public works projects from concept development through construction.
The Project Administrator will work closely with engineers and project managers to develop high-quality design documents and construction documents for site development, utility systems, and fuel facility projects throughout the United States and abroad.
Specifically, the Project Administrator will: organize the submission of documents, develop work plans and accident prevention plans, document tasks and efforts in order to develop invoice documents, provide CAD support for designers and engineers, assist in proposals, support general office activities.
Key Responsibilities
Organize and develop submittal documents
- Print and troubleshoot AutoCAD drawings
- Print and assemble Design Analysis documents
- Edit PDF documents
- Interface with government personnel
Prepare various health and work plans for government projects
- Develop “front-end” documents such as Work Plans and Health and Safety Plans required by government contract
Document tasks and prepare invoice documents
- Document and submit contractually mandated tasks
- Interface with government personnel to ensure tasks are completed and documented correctly
- Prepare invoice documents detailing efforts and summarizing task progress and overall project status
Provide CAD support
- Utilize AutoCAD to implement simple markups for various disciplines
- Utilize AutoCAD to maintain the Sheet Set Manager files
- Utilize AutoCAD to set up new projects for the design team
Provide general office support
- Assist Project Managers and engineers in development of spreadsheets and proposal documents
- Create Gantt charts using MS Project
- Assist co-workers with MS Office (formatting, cloud-based documents, light troubleshooting)
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- AutoCAD experience
- MS Office proficiency
- MS Project familiarity
- Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam proficiency
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required government security clearances and pass applicable background checks.
- Ability to travel occasionally to project sites, military installations, and client locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in any U.S. state or territory.
- Experience supporting federal, military, aviation, utility, fuel systems, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC), Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC), Defense Logistics Agency Energy (DLA Energy), or other federal agency design standards.
- Experience with fuel storage facilities, hydrant fueling systems, pipelines, tank farms, petroleum distribution systems, bulk fuel storage facilities, or related fuel infrastructure.
- Ability to interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical standards.
