Position Summary:
Under general supervision of the dental director, performs professional dental work in the supervision, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of dental diseases, injuries, and deformities.
Essential Functions / Duties:

Examines, diagnoses, and plans program of treatment for patients.

Performs operative dentistry.

Performs periodontics.

Performs oral surgery.

Performs Prosthodontics.

Performs pediatric dentistry.

Follows office sterilization/office hygiene protocol.

Participates in staffing, in-service training, patient education, and other meetings as appropriate.

Refers patients to the necessary specialist for services outside the scope of general dentistry or for those of unusual difficulty.

Supervises assigned dental assistant in provision of patient care.
Education:
-
D.D.S or D.M.D Degree required.
Experience:
-
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of modern dentistry and dental hygiene.
- Ability to work within a team setting and be able to relate to the special needs of CHC/SEIA’s patient population.
Licensure:
-
Licensure to practice within the state of Iowa.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required.
