Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and highly motivated truck driver. In this role, you will transport goods and materials efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and a clean driving record. You will be responsible for transporting goods across various distances, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining the truck's operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Transport goods to assigned destinations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Load and unload cargo as needed, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials. (Note: 60% of freight is no-touch, though some assistance may be required for offloading. Offloading will never be solely the driver's responsibility.)
- Perform regular truck and trailer inspections, including checking tire pressure, fuel, and oil levels.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Follow traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers.
- Ensure the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the truck.
- Report any mechanical issues or accidents promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Availability for 7–10 day trips per run is required.
- Experience in NYC is a must as most pickups are in the Bronx.
Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A.
- Proven experience as a truck driver with at least five years of experience, including at least two years of over-the-road experience.
- Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) over the last three years, with no recent traffic violations.
- Ability to operate GPS and other navigational tools.
- Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks (must lift and move boxes weighing 50–60 lbs).
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- General knowledge of truck operations is highly preferred.
