Wellness In Inwood is a small business located in Inwood NY. Our goal is to provide access to individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders. To deliver them with the highest quality evidence based treatment available, while inspiring hope and contributing to their overall health and wellness.
We are seeking a compassionate, engaging, and dedicated Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social work and clinical counseling, with the ability to provide support and guidance to individuals facing various challenges. This role is essential in fostering a safe and supportive environment for clients, utilizing therapeutic techniques to promote healing and personal growth. Candidate will be responsible for managing and prioritizing the workload to ensure all deadlines are met.
Duties
- Provide SUD services to client population in the identified "In community" location.
- Develops and conducts group, individual and family counseling on a scheduled basis to caseload clients.
- Obtain weekly random urine samples according to the established protocol.
- Orients clients about program goals, objectives, rules and regulations, client obligations, client rights, and program operation.
- Demonstrates knowledge of group work management techniques and uses those techniques appropriately.
- Demonstrates appropriate treatment planning and clinical intervention.
- Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate documentation.
- Provides education and information to the client about alcohol and drug abuse.
- Maintains and updates referral services and resources that may be useful to our client population; make referrals when necessary and appropriate.
- Prepare legal monthly reports monthly or as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in clinical counseling or direct support roles.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and crisis management strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and demonstrate empathy towards clients.
- Must be committed to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in practice.
- Must have experience/knowledge of 822 Outpatient Treatment (2 years).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
