Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young learners in a vibrant educational environment. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating educational technology and instructional modifications tailored to individual student needs.
- Provide specialized instruction and behavioral therapy techniques for students with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Manage classroom behavior proactively through effective behavior management strategies, creating a positive learning environment conducive to growth and exploration.
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and parents to support each child's IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals and overall development.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress using standardized testing methods, documenting achievements and adjusting instructional approaches accordingly.
- Engage in parent-teacher communication to share insights on student progress, behavioral health, and strategies for home support.
- Mentor assistant teachers and support staff, fostering teamwork and continuous professional development focused on childhood development and special education best practices.
Requirements
- Proven classroom management skills with experience in early childhood education or elementary school teaching, especially within special education settings.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management for students with disabilities, and special education law including IEP processes.
- Experience working with children who have autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders; familiarity with speech therapy techniques is highly desirable.
- Ability to integrate educational technology effectively into lesson planning and classroom activities.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and other professionals to support student success.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education practices such as curriculum development tailored for diverse learners and literacy/math education strategies.
- Prior experience in private or Montessori preschool settings is a plus; certification in early intervention or behavioral health is advantageous.
