Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our team for the 2nd shift. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding and fabrication processes, with a strong understanding of blueprints, schematics, and mechanical systems. This role involves working on construction sites and manufacturing environments, utilizing various welding techniques and fabrication tools to produce high-quality metal components according to industry standards. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction, manufacturing, or related fields to contribute to complex projects requiring precision and technical expertise.
Duties
- Perform TIG, FCAW, and MIG welding on various materials including sheet metal, ductwork, and piping in accordance with blueprints and schematics; Mostly TIG Welding and sheet metal work preferred
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of components
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
- Measure materials using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure proper fit and specifications
- Execute fabrication tasks such as cutting, bending, assembling, and welding metal parts for construction or manufacturing projects
- Conduct rigging and crane operations as needed for lifting and positioning heavy components
- Maintain compliance with ASME codes & standards during fabrication processes
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment
- Assist in pipe threading, soldering, machining, and assembly tasks as required for project completion
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment on construction sites or manufacturing floors
Qualifications
- Proven experience in welding (MIG, TIG, FCAW) with knowledge of welding standards
- Construction site experience preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and other fabrication machinery
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to welding and fabrication work
- Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Experience operating cranes or forklift is a plus but not required
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes including sheet metal work, ductwork assembly, pipe threading, soldering, machining, and assembly operations
- Ability to work efficiently during the 2nd shift schedule while maintaining high safety standards
