Job Summary
iWater, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, outgoing, and personable Account Executive to drive sales of our infraMAP® utility asset management software. This position is ideal for a relationship-focused sales professional who enjoys meeting new people, developing opportunities, and helping utilities improve how they manage their infrastructure.
The Account Executive will be responsible for building a strong sales pipeline, conducting software demonstrations, developing proposals, and closing new business with municipalities, water agencies, utility districts, private utilities, and other infrastructure organizations.
The successful candidate should be located in Southern California and comfortable traveling throughout the region to meet with prospective and existing customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new opportunities with public and private utilities.
- Build relationships with utility managers, public works professionals, GIS staff, operations teams, and other decision-makers.
- Generate leads through prospecting, networking, conferences, industry associations, referrals, and targeted outreach.
- Conduct engaging software demonstrations both virtually and in person.
- Understand each customer’s operational challenges and demonstrate how infraMAP® can improve field data collection, asset maintenance, GIS accuracy, reporting, and project management.
- Prepare proposals, pricing, presentations, and responses to requests for proposals and qualifications.
- Manage opportunities throughout the entire sales cycle—from initial contact through contract execution.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, contact information, opportunities, and forecasts in the company’s CRM system.
- Coordinate with iWater’s software, implementation, GIS, field services, and customer support teams.
- Develop long-term customer relationships that support renewals, product expansion, and referrals.
- Represent iWater and infraMAP® at conferences, trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, customer feedback, and emerging utility technology needs.
- Meet or exceed established sales and revenue goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience selling software, SaaS, technology, or professional services.
- Software sales experience within the water, wastewater, stormwater, public works, 811, backflow or broader utility industry is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with GIS, Esri technology, utility asset management, field data collection, or maintenance management systems is a plus.
- Experience selling to municipalities, water agencies, utility districts, natural gas or electric utilities, or other government organizations is preferred.
- Understanding of public-sector purchasing, budgeting, contracting, and RFP processes is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a pipeline, manage a consultative sales process, and close new business.
- Strong presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to understand customer workflows and explain technical solutions in clear, practical terms.
- Comfortable delivering software demonstrations to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms, and sales presentation tools.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for customer meetings and industry events.
