Duties
- Prepare and serve balanced meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, microwaves, and food processors efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning workstations, utensils, and dining areas following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food handling tasks, including portioning, weighing, and packaging food items accurately
- Process cash transactions at the point-of-sale (POS) system while providing friendly in-person customer service to students and staff
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure hygiene standards are consistently met
- Support dietary needs by accommodating special diets and dietary restrictions as directed
- Handle weight-based tasks in the workplace with precision during food preparation and distribution
- Contribute to a positive dining environment through excellent customer service and engaging interactions with students
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments is preferred, especially with elementary or school settings
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures, food handling practices, and basic math skills for measuring ingredients and managing transactions
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently; experience with POS systems is a plus
- Manual handling skills for lifting, carrying, and moving food items or supplies safely
- Familiarity with fine dining or banquet experience is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm for working with children is essential
- Strong customer service skills with an energetic approach to serving students in person
- Experience in processing cash transactions accurately and managing weight handling tasks confidently
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety standards in a fast-paced environment
