Main Functions
Performs production support and manufacturing operations within the Photo, Develop, Etch, Strip, Cleaning, Inspection, and related circuit fabrication departments. This role supports the processing of flexible circuits, rigid-flex circuits, and other commercial or defense-related products through controlled imaging, developing, etching, stripping, cleaning, inspection, and material handling operations.
The individual will be trained to set up, operate, monitor, and assist with department-specific production equipment, including manual, semi-automatic, and automated processing systems. This may include equipment used for photoresist application, direct imaging, UV exposure, development, etching, stripping, cleaning, and inspection.
Uses product specifications, travelers, blueprints, diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to process material accurately and consistently. Monitors output for quality, process conformance, line performance, and required production metrics. Prepares and maintains production records, verifies job requirements, and reports any inconsistencies, defects, process abnormalities, or equipment issues to the appropriate supervisor or technician.
This position requires a flexible, team-oriented individual who is willing and able to move between departments, work centers, and production operations as business needs require. The role may support Photo, Develop, Etch, Strip, Cleaning, Inspection, Packaging, Assembly, or other shop floor operations depending on production priorities, staffing needs, and customer delivery requirements.
The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced shop floor environment, rotate between multiple workstations, follow detailed instructions, maintain good housekeeping, and support department throughput, quality, safety, and delivery goals.

Typical Duties
- Assist with daily production activities in the Photo, Develop, Etch, Strip, Cleaning, Inspection, and related manufacturing areas.
- Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment used for imaging, exposure, developing, etching, stripping, cleaning, and inspection processes.
- Support direct imaging, photoresist processing, artwork verification, panel preparation, and related front-end production steps.
- Read and follow travelers, blueprints, customer specifications, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Verify material, part numbers, revision levels, tooling, panel size, and process requirements prior to running production.
- Load, unload, handle, and transport panels safely between workstations while preventing damage, contamination, scratches, dents, or handling defects.
- Monitor equipment operation, process flow, conveyor speed, chemistry condition, temperature, pressure, dwell time, and other process-related settings as trained.
- Inspect panels before, during, and after processing for defects, including incomplete imaging, resist issues, under developing, overdeveloping, etch defects, contamination, handling damage, or other nonconformances.
- Stop, reset, or notify appropriate personnel when machine malfunctions, process alarms, jams, leaks, or abnormal conditions occur.
- Communicate production issues, defects, shortages, equipment concerns, or quality concerns to supervisors, leads, process technicians, or engineering support.
- Assist with department changeovers, job staging, material preparation, tooling preparation, and process setup.
- Maintain accurate production records, including quantities processed, scrap, rework, downtime, job status, and any required inspection or process documentation.
- Move between departments, work centers, and operations as needed to support production flow, staffing coverage, and customer delivery requirements.
- Assist other production areas outside of the primary department when trained and assigned.
- Support cross-training efforts by learning multiple operations and helping maintain continuity across departments.
- Adapt to changing production priorities and perform assigned tasks in different manufacturing areas while following applicable procedures and safety requirements.
- Communicate with supervisors, leads, and team members when transitioning between departments to ensure proper job status, priorities, and handoff of work.
- Replenish materials and supplies used in the department, such as film, resist-related materials, chemistry-related supplies, gloves, wipes, labels, containers, and shop floor consumables.
- Perform basic cleaning, housekeeping, and 5S activities in work areas, equipment areas, and shared production spaces.
- Follow all safety requirements, chemical handling procedures, PPE requirements, cleanroom or controlled-area requirements, and company policies.
- Assist with training on existing and new equipment, processes, and department procedures.
- Support continuous improvement activities related to quality, throughput, yield, setup reduction, housekeeping, and process consistency.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, lead, or manager.

Preferred Skills
- Experience in printed circuit board, flexible circuit, rigid-flex, or electronic component manufacturing.
- Experience in Photo, Develop, Etch, Strip, Cleaning, AOI, inspection, or wet process manufacturing areas.
- Experience operating manual, semi-automatic, or automated production equipment.
- Familiarity with LDI, UV exposure, photoresist processing, chemical developing, chemical etching, stripping, or panel cleaning processes.
- Cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment experience.
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, part travelers, and customer specifications.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to use hand tools, measuring devices, inspection tools, or shop floor instrumentation.
- Ability to multi-task and support multiple production priorities.
- Fast learner with a positive attitude and willingness to be cross-trained.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with operators, leads, supervisors, process technicians, quality personnel, and engineering support.
