The Medical Receptionist/Assistant is a multi-skilled health professional who works interdependently with our clinical team. At Neurology Center for Epilepsy and Seizures we are looking for an individual who can perform a wide variety of tasks involved with scheduling, test ordering, triaging calls as well as an individual who can performs the duties of a Medical Assistant. The individual must work collaboratively with insurance companies in support of direct patient services, exhibiting flexibility and a positive attitude. The individual must exemplify the core value of the Center, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy, and tact in patient/staff interactions. This is an in office position. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform insurance verification using EMR system, Navinet, Availity, and other insurance portals.
- Verify patient out of pocket expense (copays, deductibles, coinsurance) for any services rendered in the office.
- Prepare for upcoming patient appointments by reviewing and updating their chart with correct insurance information.
- Room patients and take their vitals
- Enter patient history into chart from initial intake, update medications
Skills:
- 2 years + working experience in the medical field
- Knowledge of medical EMR and medical/neurological terminology
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
