Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team and drive the efficiency of our transportation and supply chain operations. Duties
- Coordinate the flow of inbound and outbound freight while procuring freight rates and maintaining accounts monthly profits and targets on assigned accounts
- Negotiate rates with carriers and manages freight costs.
- Develops new and existing carrier relationships
- Tracks, trace, and updates the customer on the status of their shipments while keeping accurate records of relevant activities
- Collaborate and communicate with all parties involved in the shipment and receipt of products about information related to the shipment
- Communicate with carriers and customers to resolve any discrepancies in billing or the shipment
- Verify and troubleshoot any issues in shipping or customs documentation including, but not limited to, PODs, BOL and Customs Brokers, to make sure shipments and processes are followed
- Update, send, approve & release invoices and proof of deliveries to customers as required
- Support the RFQ process by analyzing customer requests, gathering operational input, and preparing timely and competitive quotes
- Participates in Continuous Improvement and training and adheres to establish policies and procedures
- Any other duties entrusted and assigned by the management team.
QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience: 3 + years of freight broker trucking experience
PERSONAL:
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Extremely organized and detail oriented.
- Must possess a strong work ethic.
- Strong communication (both verbal and written), problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong knowledge of North American geography.
- Experience with cross border shipping requirements.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, tactical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
