1st Class Shipfitter to join our growing team at our Bayou La Batre, Alabama shipyard. This is a great opportunity for you to provide your knowledge and skills to a growing company in building a new cutting-edge vessel.
Work/ shift hours are:
- 4 x 10’s
- 5:00am CST to 3:30pm CST – Monday through Thursday.
- Some overtime can be anticipated.

- 3 to 5 years of experience in the ship/boat building industry as a structural fitter
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Minimal welding experience must be able to tack weld.
- Must be proficient in layout and cutting of steels and aluminium using necessary tools.
- Must possess the basic tools required to perform shipfitters duties.
- Excellent math skills with the ability to read a tape measure and other measuring devices.
- Must maintain dimensional accuracy and fairness of materials to be fitted.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to operate equipment safely and comply with all safety standards.
- Demonstrates strong work ethic.
- Must be able to recognize fit up issues and relay to supervisor.
- Must be able to operate power tools (grinders, saws, drills, etc.)
- Demonstrates a consistency in quality of work with minimal to no discrepancies.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders and enter confined spaces to complete tasks.
Individuals selected are required to have proof of:
· NON-DOT 10 panel, rapid drug screen
· NON-DOT Physical
o Includes medical clearance to wear a respirator.
· E-Verify
· Criminal and civil background check
