POSITION SUMMARY
The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing installs, repairs and maintenance to a variety of equipment including: refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, semi-hermetic compressors, split systems, air compressors, air driers, and packaged units throughout the service area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze, Plan, and Perform Preventive Maintenance of HVAC System throughout the district
- Troubleshoot, repair and make modifications to HVAC System
- Adhere to all city, state, and federal regulatory statues
- Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations
- Able to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to organize work and meet deadlines.

- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Understands and has mastered the refrigeration cycles.
- Understands refrigeration recovery, evacuation and charging, understands the installation and sizing of refrigerant piping.
- Understands, AC and DC currents, single phase and three phase circuits, and series and parallel circuits. Ability to read wiring advanced wiring diagrams. Ability to use multi-meters to read voltage, current and resistance values. Must be able to troubleshoot advanced electrical circuits.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- EPA Universal Certification
- 1-5 years of experience as an HVAC Technician
- Trade School Certificate preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift and/or carry moderate weight (15-50 pounds), sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, repetitive hand motions, hear, speak, some travel within the state of Florida.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must have satisfactory outcome of background and fingerprinting check, and drug screening prior to starting employment.
