Purpose
To lead and own the success of Thomas Cattle Company’s wholesale boxed beef program. This position is responsible for growing profitable wholesale sales, maximizing carcass value, building strategic customer relationships, and ensuring long-term market leadership.
The Wholesale Program Manager acts as the business owner of the wholesale channel—defining strategy, executing sales, and aligning internal teams to drive sustainable revenue and profit growth alongside ownership.
Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesProgram Ownership & Strategic Sales Leadership
· Owns the wholesale beef program performance, including revenue, margin, carcass utilization, customer satisfaction, and strategic expansion.
· Develops, executes, and iterates a long-term growth strategy for wholesale sales in alignment with company-wide goals.
· Builds and manages a high-impact portfolio of wholesale accounts, including food service, retail, and institutional customers.
· Leads negotiations and closes new business opportunities while deepening relationships with existing clients.
· Ensures a premium customer experience and acts as the lead representative of TCC in wholesale-facing interactions.
Performance Measurement & Margin Optimization
· Tracks key performance indicators including profitability, net margin, carcass value per head, product mix, and channel growth.
· Builds and maintains sales dashboards for internal transparency and decision-making.
· Recommends product strategies based on real-time market insights and cost inputs
Market Research & Competitive Positioning
· Continuously evaluates the competitive landscape and market trends to position TCC’s wholesale offerings as a premium and differentiated option.
· Leads product development discussions based on customer demand and operational feasibility.
Brand Representation & Engagement
· Acts as an ambassador of the TCC brand at trade shows, chef events, buyer meetings, and foodservice conferences.
· Creates consistent touchpoints and high-value engagement strategies for wholesale buyers and partners.
Internal Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination
· Collaborates with production, operations, and marketing teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment, inventory planning, and customer communication.
· Leads internal efforts to align team understanding of the wholesale program and its objectives.
· Assists in deliveries as the backup for our Deliver Driver when needed
Training & Development
· Develops training and educational materials for team members related to beef cuts, value optimization, and sales processes.
Other Duties
· Performs other strategic or support tasks as assigned by the CEO.

· Deliver consistent sales and margin growth in the wholesale beef program, aligned with company-wide revenue and profit goals.
· Maximize carcass value through smart product mix, pricing, and customer targeting.
· Build and maintain strong, profitable wholesale customer relationships that drive repeat business and brand loyalty.
· Provide regular insights and recommendations on market trends, pricing strategies, and account performance.
· Complete all sales initiatives in alignment with the company’s annual operational plan and within budget.
· Maintain proactive, transparent communication with TCC leadership and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5 or more years in wholesale protein sales or a similar role, ideally in premium beef or perishable food sales.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills & Knowledge:
· Deep understanding of beef carcass breakdown, cut value, and sales strategies that optimize yield.
· Strategic thinking and the ability to connect sales execution with broader business goals.
· Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; highly self-motivated and organized.
· Proficiency in CRM systems, sales analytics, and general office software.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs (boxes of beef or supplies).
Work Environment: Primarily remote with travel required to home office on occasion, regular/consistent visits to leads and current wholesale customers within region and attending events. Pre-approval for travel expenses required.
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
