STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Location: North West San Antonio
Compensation: $75,000 - $78,000
One of our favorite client's has once again been named a TOP WORKPLACE 2026 and they are looking to add a STAFF ACCOUNTANT to their already amazing Accounting and Finance team. This is an opportunity to gain broad accounting exposure, work directly with leadership, and build specialized construction accounting experience while contributing to an employee-owned company that invests in its people and their future.

- Gain hands-on experience across the full accounting cycle, including month-end and year-end close.
- Work directly with the Controller and leadership team, providing mentorship and career development opportunities.
- Expand your expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Develop specialized experience in construction accounting and job costing, a highly marketable skill set.
- Build valuable audit experience through external audits, tax filings, insurance audits, ESOP audits, and 401(k) audits.
- Take on high-visibility projects that support business growth and operational decision-making.
- Contribute to process improvements and internal control initiatives that make a measurable impact.

- Prepare account reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and month-end close documentation.
- Record and maintain journal entries and general ledger transactions.
- Assist with monthly financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Support construction job costing and review project expenses for accuracy.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Research accounting discrepancies and assist with process improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Construction industry or similar experience preferred
- Sage 100 Contractor experience is a plus
